A Thousand Cranes: College Theater Lends a Hand
over 2 years ago | 637 viewsLafayette students delivered 1000 paper cranes from a College Theater production to 10-year-old David Heard this fall. David, the son of Tom Heard '91, was diagnosed two years ago with stage 4 neuroblastoma, an often terminal cancer of the nervous system. The Heards have received paper cranes from throughout the US, and David aims to provide a set of 1000 cranes as symbols of hope to each of the roughly 220 pediatric cancer centers in the nation. Hundreds of people from the Lafayette community and beyond recently joined the Heards for a crane-folding party at Kirby Sports Center.
